Common questions about IB to Italian grade
How is the IB converted to an Italian grade?
Italy uses a fixed table published in D.M. MIUR 18 October 2010, Allegato B. Your IB total, including TOK and Extended Essay bonus points, is looked up directly: 24 points is 60/100, 33 points is 80/100, and 42 points is 100/100.
What about 43, 44, or 45 points?
The official table ends at 42 points, which already equals 100/100, the top of the Italian scale. This converter therefore shows 100 for any total from 42 to 45.
Who does the table apply to?
The decree applies to IB diplomas from IB schools and United World Colleges on the Italian register under DPR 164/2010. Other foreign diplomas follow the general equivalence procedure, so confirm with your school office or university.
Can I get 100 e lode?
No. The table converts IB points to a grade out of 100 only and does not award lode.
